That being said I believe we all have the capability, skill and talent to be artists. We simply need to first learn how to Channel our creativity into the right outlet, and two allow yourself to create. What I mean by this is, everyone possesses the creativity to create! One simply needs to learn to access their creativity. Which is a whole different blog post for another day. People get this idea early in life that they are either artistic or not and there is no in between. Wrong. There are only people who choose to access their creativity and therefore create, and those of us who say “I wish I could draw like that, but I’m not artistic at all” and as a result don’t try. The beautiful thing is, YOU ARE Every bit as capable as me or the next guy. Creative and artistic are not the same thing, and you can very possibly be creative and have artistic moments. There are so many beautiful benefits to art therapy and using the parts of your brain that create! My next post will talk about how to channel your creativity and five exercises to tap into your creative side! Thank you so much for reading this intro blog post and I hope you enjoy the upcoming posts! Kris
I know what you are thinking! “What do you mean I don’t have to be an artist!! That’s exactly what artists do!” Well, yes and no. Let me explain a bit and we will go from there. Deal? The word art is such an amazing word in the fact that it covers many many different niches. You May paint, write music and sing, or maybe you design jewelry. There are so many different art forms that you Simply can not label just one niche as artists while disregarding another. Most of us create art everyday without even realizing it. An artist is generally defined as an individual who creates higher forms of art that may be judged or critiqued. A higher art form generally refers to painters, poets, actors and sculptors etc. Now art is simply defined as a product or activity produced with the intent to communicate or has an aesthetic purpose. That covers sooo many different areas! So it is possible to produce a product with the intent of communication using aesthetic appeal every day without being an “Artist”
