Welbond is perfect for this because it goes on white and dries crystal clear so you can tell when it’s completely dry. I found that glass to glass like this can take 24-48 hours to completely cure depending on how much glue you use. It dries so well that I could very literally pick the whole table up by the centerpiece! Now that’s sticky glue!!! Now comes the part that takes patience... glue down every glass piece! It took two tubes of glue by the way for this project. If you are using a glass to glass contact like myself it’s best to clean the glass surface with rubbing alcohol to remove any oils and debris then put small amounts of glue on the table top and a bit on the glass piece you are glueing down. Press it into the glue. It takes only a min or two for it to begin to stick down so I do not suggest doing large patches of glue, instead go piece by piece.
I turned a $6 goodwill table Into a fun and attention grabbing piece. I did it all very Shabby-Cheap too! Supplies: $6 mirror top table $3.50 Welbond Glue Paint $8 Glass pieces Pour Resin to seal That’s it! I didn’t include price for the paint or resin because i already had them laying around the house. I used chalk base spray paint which seems to hold up pretty well even before sealing. When I started the table it first got sanded and the bottom painted blue. Then I glued down the centerpiece.
Now keep plugging away at it until you are all the way done. Allow to completely dry!!! Then seal with resin! Boom! You have yourself a Shabby Cheap masterpiece
Halfway through!
